From the Desk of Ms. Crystal-December

December

Dear Showcase parents and dancers,

Happy December to you all!  I can’t believe it’s almost time for the winter break and before you know it, we will be celebrating the new year.  This is the perfect time to reflect on everything you’ve accomplished in 2019 and look forward to new goals!

It’s that kind of reflection we hope our students will use as they participate in this month’s Believe Challenge, which is to BE Compassionate.  I want to encourage our dancers to think about the kindhearted moments they’ve experienced themselves this year, and what they can do to create more moments like that for others.

So what does it mean for our students to BE Compassionate?  Here are my suggestions for this month’s challenge:

  • If you see someone in need, stop what you’re doing and lend them a hand

  • Forgive someone who hurt your feelings and give them a second chance

  • Catch yourself when you are judging someone; remember that everyone has a story you may not know

  • If someone you know is sad, discouraged, or has experienced a loss, offer to listen to them without giving advice

  • Send a handwritten card to someone just to make them smile

Also, to BE Compassionate, you also have to remember to be kind to yourself!  Think about what makes you feel cared for and how to seek out more of those experiences.

I can’t wait to hear all the ways you choose to BE Compassionate this month, at the studio and in the other areas of your life.  I’m sure that we are making the world a better place, one connection at a time!

Sincerely,

Ms. Crystal
