A Studio Created with Purpose
Before founding Showcase, I had the honor of dancing professionally for both the Washington Wizards and what was then known as the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders. It was an exciting chapter in my life—one filled with amazing opportunities and valuable life lessons. But it also revealed aspects of the dance and entertainment industry that didn’t sit right with me—especially as I thought about the next generation of dancers.
At times, the focus shifted away from skill and passion to image and appearance. Even as an adult, I felt pressure to conform in ways that didn’t align with my values. It became even more concerning when I saw those same trends showing up in children’s dance spaces.
That experience lit a fire in me to create something better—something that protects childhood, promotes confidence, and prepares kids for life, not just the stage.
